Meerschaum by Paronelli Pipe is the first pipe produced in Italy and made entirely by hand from a block of pure foam. This ancient material (already 200 years ago worked in Vienna), originally from Eskisehir (Turkey) is a magnesium silicate (63.3% Silica and 24.7% Magnesium). To be extracted, holes are dug up to a depth between 20 and 60 meters. As with briar pipes, there is a huge qualitative difference for foam pipes. This implies an important choice of the raw material; which once selected, will undergo a delicate work aimed at obtaining pipes with unique shapes. The final finishing and waxing procedures also require equal attention. The production of good foam pipes is pure craftsmanship.
